Our mentors are experienced creators and developers who’ve been where you are, solved the same challenges, and found the paths that lead to success. They host workshops, build-alongs and AMAs to share strategies, troubleshoot roadblocks and help you move faster from concept to launch. Whether you’re fine-tuning a core loop, optimizing for mobile or polishing your app or world for release, these mentors are here to make sure you’re building with confidence.
Meta Horizon Creator Program
The Meta Horizon Creator Program (MHCP) gives creators a direct path from concept to launch. We provide the resources to build a business, including direct funding through our $50 million creator fund, robust monetization tools and access to a powerful desktop editor that enables multi-platform launches.
Our MHCP mentors are at the heart of these efforts. They’re veteran creators who share their expertise with the creator community through one-on-one sessions, interactive build-alongs, AMAs, workshops, and other weekly events. SeeingBlue turns complex technical challenges into clear, actionable steps that move your build forward. As the creator of Horizon 101, an educational hub he’s run for four years, he hosts weekly events to help new and seasoned members master Worlds’ creator tools. His sessions range from one-on-one troubleshooting to live Mentor Mini-Builds and the World Planning Workshop, where creators turn ambitious ideas into actionable plans before writing a single line of code.
SeeingBlue got his start in Meta Horizon back in 2021 when he had an epiphany upon entering build mode for the first time. That ‘a-ha’ moment powers his mentoring style today: meeting creators where they are, whether they’re mapping out their first project or optimizing a complex logic chain for scalability.

A great world needs a distinct artistic vision, and helping creators bring that vision to life is what SpaceGlitterUnicorn does best. Glitter (as she’s known to her friends) spent 14 years as a banker before taking the courageous leap, as a single mother, to go all-in as a full-time sculptor and 3D modeler. As an MHCP mentor, SpaceGlitterUnicorn leads sessions on 3D modeling and art design like the Advanced Design Feedback Festival and Hit Record - Video Moments.
“Learn your craft, stick to the parts that make you happy, and most importantly, set expectations,” she says. “If you’re starting fresh, give yourself the time and patience because learning and growing is not an overnight thing.”

Looking at MKE_TheGuru’s polished worlds Carbs with Friends and Upward Falls, you’d never guess his journey began as a theatre kid working in a Texas Cracker Barrel. He discovered Worlds during one of the hardest chapters of his life, teaching himself the creation tools from scratch and finding a new community of artists, scripters and friends along the way.
Today, MKE_TheGuru brings that same persistence and empathy to his MHCP mentorship. He leads Art & Design Feedback Festivals, live critiques and sessions on lighting, sound optimization, onboarding best practices and visual storytelling. Specializing in world art/design with a side of “begin-termediate” programming, he focuses on breaking down the early frustrations that can derail new builders. As he puts it, “Things can get overwhelming sometimes, but don't be scared to ask for help! There's many creators who are willing and ready to help you!”

In an industry of newcomers and fresh faces, Shards632 stands apart as a true Silicon Valley veteran who’s been building user-generated VR content since the 1990s, long before most people had ever heard of the metaverse. For him, making the jump to mentorship with the MHCP was a no-brainer: “I became a mentor because I felt my programming experience would be especially valuable to the creator community that came from much broader walks of life than Silicon Valley.”
As a mentor since late 2024, Shards632 focuses on helping creators refine ideas, design game mechanics and level up their TypeScript skills. He leads TypeScript best practices and Designing Worlds for Mobile sessions, giving creators the tools to craft more sophisticated and performant worlds. One of his most valuable ongoing contributions is providing weekly release notes on the TypeScript API so creators can take advantage of new features before official announcements. He’s also a key contributor to the Creator Manual, the community’s definitive technical reference.
After 11 years as a web developer, Tellous traded in his keyboard for a Meta Quest headset so he could pursue his lifelong passion for competitive gaming and development. He co-founded his own studio, VRinReview (alongside Ashley Briley, fellow Worlds creator and Best Simulation World winner in the Mobile Genre Showdown), where he’s bringing big branded experiences like Mega Tasty BBQ and Survivor: Horizon Island to Worlds.
Tellous specializes in teaching creators how to integrate AI into their workflows, a topic he's become the go-to expert for within the community. To help creators build smarter and not just harder, he created the Horizon Worlds Snippets GitHub repository, a resource packed with code examples designed to help creators master new systems. For Tellous, mentorship is aboutbridging the knowledge gap to “empower newcomers to accelerate their learning, tap into their full potential, and create innovative hits.” You can follow Tellous on Instagram @TellousVr.
Meta Horizon Start
Shipping a game is hard. Shipping a game for a new platform is even harder. That was the core problem the original Oculus Start program was created to solve back in 2018: Getting resources to talented developers who were held back by cost and access, not by a lack of promising ideas.
While that mission hasn’t changed, the scale is radically different. Today, the Meta Horizon Start program is a full support system for developers on Horizon OS. Members receive go-to-market guidance, software credits and advanced technical education from a global community of experienced peers, plus a newly launched Mentor program. Start also offers a direct line to educational resources, experts from Meta product teams and priority technical support from Meta teams. The mentors you’re about to meet are the critical human element of this support stack: veteran developers who’ve shipped titles, scaled studios and surmounted many of the exact challenges you are facing today.
Every developer eventually hits a performance wall where stutters and dropped frames tank the player experience. That’s when you call Angelsin. Her resume is frankly intimidating, having worked on OnSight for NASA-JPL (which, no big deal, is MR software that lets scientists virtually walk on Mars), 3D planning software for the Perseverance Rover (ASTTRO), and PCVR titles like BitShift Battlegrid and VReakout.
As a Start mentor, Angelsin runs Performance and Optimization Clinics where she works directly with developers to identify frame-rate bottlenecks, diagnose complex Unity build issues and implement optimization strategies tailored to their projects. She uses her NASA-grade expertise to go beyond fixing individual problems, teaching developers how to diagnose and resolve performance challenges themselves. "More than just seeing some performance gains," she says, "they are starting to help each other with performance problems which means they are not just solving one problem, but learning to solve the problems."

Ombra co-founded Coal Car Studio with his brother back in 2015 with a vision that seems prophetic today. "Our studio's vision is to make VR more social by building experiences that bring people together in meaningful ways," he explains. The award-winning boutique studio has built everything from VR museum galleries to immersive brand activations for Kia, UberEats, H&M and Snapchat. Their latest release, Fruit Golf, is an asymmetric multiplayer party game where players golf fruit through whimsical courses while friends actively sabotage them.
As one of the first mentors in the Start program, Ombra focuses on helping developers harness the platform’s most powerful and underused features. He leads deep-dive workshops on topics like the Passthrough Camera Access API and the Attestation API, breaking down complex systems into practical, developer-ready tools. His sessions often turn intimidating features into game-changing advantages for performance, security and creative expression.

Since joining the Start program in 2019, Valem has become one of its most visible champions by blending deep technical expertise with a teacher’s knack for clarity. Sure, he’s helped thousands of aspiring XR developers worldwide master Unity, multiplayer networking, optimization and VFX through his YouTube channel, Valem Tutorials. But his studio’s recent launch of their game Detective VR on the Meta Horizon Store is proof that his lessons work in the real world too.
As a Start mentor, Valem is best known for his hands-on “Let’s Make a F2P Multiplayer VR Game” build-along series, where participants create and publish a fully playable project step-by-step. He walks developers through multiplayer implementation, UX design, F2P monetization and optimization, making advanced concepts approachable and fun. In addition to the build-along, he regularly hosts workshops on topics like VR game physics, shader tricks and social media growth strategies for indie studios.
