Legacy guidance: Meta ended support of Unreal Engine 4.27 in Meta XR SDK v62, and no further updates will be made. See Installing the Meta XR Plugin for instructions on installing the recommended plugin. The information on this page is preserved for teams maintaining existing UE4 projects.
Installing the Oculus VR Plugin for UE 4.27
For Unreal Engine 4.27 development, use the Oculus VR plugin rather than the Meta XR plugin.
Caution: The Oculus VR plugin is deprecated and can’t be downloaded separately.
To install the Oculus VR plugin, reinstall Unreal Engine from the Oculus-VR fork of the Unreal Engine source code. This fork includes the necessary plugin files. To access the Oculus-VR fork, ensure you have a verified Meta Developer Account with linked Epic Games and GitHub accounts. For more information, see Prerequisites for installing Unreal Engine.
To check if the Oculus VR plugin is installed on your computer
Open Unreal Engine.
Go to Edit > Plugins.
Under Installed, go to Virtual Reality, and check to see if the Oculus VR plugin is installed and enabled.
